Odd question/problem! I have never had an issue with the releases until I got android auto. It doesn’t recognize spotify as a music application. I uninstalled and installed the playstore version and it was recognized by my car. I really don’t want to pay for spotify because of how flawless Mr Dude and Adipato creates the magic application. For me also, too bad it doesn’t work. I’m now looking into connecting an old Android phone permanently to the receiver somewhere hidden in my a/v cabinet. The phone will run this Spotify and a remote desktop app (Airdroid or Remodroid) so I can see the screen of that old phone on other phones and computers, and control it to start playing Spotify through the receiver. Sounds a bit complicated, but I think it will work well.

For people who really want to use spotify connect to play through a receiver (which this hacked version still won’t do) try the app AirAudio, it works very well. It streams any sound, icluding spotify, from your phone (which has to be rooted) to any machine with Airplay, DLNA and other protocols. The free version inserts beeping souds after 5 minutes of streaming, but the app is worth paying for.

Superb app and it works just fine. Been listening from past 3 hours and not a single ad nor any kind of break appeared. Only sad thing is that Connect does not work and I cannot connect to my receiver, which sucks. Using bluetooth to connect and playing through the receiver.

I don’t think 320kbit extreme quality is actually real. Sounds just like “high quality” 160kbit. It might be server side controlled.

It now appears they can track users who have the cracked app (not just location based now). So they sent out an email threatening to delete those accounts if we don’t unlink them from the cracked app. Not good. They can’t remove the APK, but they can ban the account linked to it.
Now we just have to wait (probably weeks/months) before someone attempts a new apk work around. Or simply continue using the current app and risk getting your account banned.
Bummer, but nothing to do but wait or risk losing the account attached to the banned app (I’m still logged in on my app (which still works) but got the email telling me to unlink the account).
Create an email address with all fake information (US preferred) and then create a new Spotify account using a VPN (set location to USA) and when you are into the app, you can turn off VPN. But remember, Spotify may log you out after every 15-20 days. You just have to login again using the VPN.

There’s still a way to use against the ban of Spotify. Try to login with a new account not asociate with Google (not gmail) or Facebook (don’t use your regular account) create a new account with hotmail or any service from Outlook, and don’t confirm the account after that. Uf that works, please let me know. It works on a Beta version, and It would ve great if works with this one too.

To be honest, I guess that none of the mods will never work with the download feature premium for a long time. To me it’s impossible bc every song has particular details of hack that it’s very difficult to implement being an unofficial version. Maybe in the future a version comes out and can do this, but I can not imagine it.

I used to download apps from this website. Then Kaspersky gave me a warning like this “Additional software has been added to some files and programs which are offered on this site. Uninstall or disable(if you cant uninstall) facebook then open Spotify and login.. Once you have logged in you can install/activate Facebook again.

I tried uisng the alt interface, and that version is so buggy, saving a song doesn’t really saves that particular song on my library, and the album section of the artists doesn’t loads, the loading icon stucks and nothing happens, the normal mod is perfect, everything is working, but the alt interface doesn’t, there’s a lot of features that aren’t working, please fix thank you.

v8.4.94.817 is missing the songs list under your library. Has the non premium version of your library.
Finally, this version 8.4.95.785 is a full working mod where you can literally pick ‘n play whatever song you wishes to play not just shuffling the playlist or a radio… The last version that works like this was 8.4.75…

I found the reason why this mod has not been updated for a long time. Mr. Dude has officially stopped modding the app, due to the constant crashes the app has had since its official updates by Spotify a few months ago.
Here is the message he posted on the mobilism forum: “I’m not going to update this app anymore – there’s too many bugs, personally I’ve gone back to using 8.4.75.670 (repack), as that version doesn’t suffer from ALL the bugs Spotify introduced. Someone else is going to need to mod this from now on as to be honest the app has gone downhill for at least the last 6 months, every update seems to make it worse. If you want new versions – pay for premium or learn to hack as my hacking days for this are over.”

This mod doesn’t allow to download songs, because it’s a server-side feature. MrDude it’s a original developer, and updates are usually posted on the mobilism forum.
